Your safe deposit box is located in a high-security vault that meets the strict requirements of Security Category 4+ according to EN 50131, as well as the highest VdS Class C in Germany. The fire- and burglary-resistant safe deposit boxes are monitored 24/7.

The contents of each safe deposit box are automatically insured for €2,5000, regardless of the size. You can increase your insurance coverage at any time to €10,000 (monthly surcharge of €3), €45,000 (monthly surcharge of €6), €90,000 (monthly surcharge of €10) or €150,000 (monthly surcharge of €15) at any time.
The coverage applies per safe deposit box. To achieve even higher coverage, you can rent multiple safe deposit boxes and distribute your valuables across them.
You will always remain the legal and economic owner of the contents of your safe deposit box – whether you store your valuables in a bank safe deposit box or your own personal vault. Unlike most banks, your safe deposit box will not be part of CitySafes’ assets in the event of bankruptcy.
Yes, you can designate a family member or partner as a co-tenant. The co-tenant will receive a key to the safe deposit box and is authorized to access it in your absence. Both are contractually considered equal primary tenants.
Adding a co-tenant must be done in person at your branch, in the presence of both the tenant and the co-tenant. Both must present a valid ID, such as an ID card.
In addition to the safe deposit box rental, a one-time deposit of €85 per box is required for the keys and lock. If you return all keys and there are no outstanding payments at the end of the rental agreement, the deposit will be refunded within one month.
You have free and unlimited access to your safe deposit box during opening hours. If you wish to access it outside these hours, this can be arranged. In this case, CitySafes charges an administrative fee of €35.
If you lose one or both keys, replacement costs will be charged: €300 (plus VAT) for one key, and €600 (plus VAT) for two keys.
Yes, of course. Please bring a current extract from the company register to your appointment. This document must be no older than three months and must include your name.
Alternatively, you can also provide your company’s VAT identification number and IBAN. If all documents are in order, your business safe deposit box at CitySafes can be rented without any issues.
